Odyssey has been America’s retail #1 best-selling minivan for 10 years and has outstanding resale value due to its sporty handling, flexible interior space, and family-friendly tech features. The 2021 Odyssey release date is quickly approaching and Vern Eide Honda Sioux City wants to make sure you’re in the know for when this legendary minivan becomes available to Iowa car shoppers. We will cover the following subjects in this article:
Although the 2021 Honda Odyssey has not been completely redesigned, Honda has made some subtle changes to further enhance the already sleek exterior. The front end has been reimagined with a gloss-black grille, new light treatment, and refreshed bumper, while the rear window receives black trim to compliment the front fascia. The interior has added refined materials throughout the cabin and the second row has more functionality than ever before, but we will expand on this news later in the article. Additionally, the 2021 Odyssey has made the following features standard across all trim levels:
As we mentioned, the 2021 Honda Odyssey cabin features even more interior configurations thanks to second-row seats that now fold almost completely flat, making them easier to remove and allowing for more cargo-hauling possibilities. The biggest edition for the 2021 model year, however, might be the new Rear Seat Reminder system—an industry first! After you turn off the Odyssey, this newly-added system will alert you to any children, pets, or important cargo in the rear seats. The 2021 Odyssey has also reimagined the center console with slots to help manage device cords, while bag hooks now hang on the back of Odyssey’s third-row seats in the rear cargo area.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey release date will be August 3, 2020, and we expect the minivan to arrive at Vern Eide Honda Sioux City shortly thereafter. Odyssey’s lineup will consist of five trim levels, including LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite, giving Iowa car shoppers plenty of feature sets to choose from. And speaking of choices, the 2021 Odyssey will be available in the following colors:
“Hauling people and things to places near and far is a minivan's primary mission, and the Odyssey completes said mission with aplomb. Its second and third rows are among the roomiest in the class, and its second-row seats are far more comfortable than the Pacifica's. Honda's inventive second-row Magic Slide seats (standard on EX trims and up) slide both side to side and fore and aft, allowing for multiple configurations. Throw in a quietest-in-class cabin, a sprinkle of ingenious tech—like an in-cabin camera that enables you to monitor the kids in the second and third rows—and the Odyssey is a hauler that is fit for the modern family.” 1
“The 2021 Honda Odyssey continues the winning ways of the best-selling minivan in the United States. During its lifetime where more than 1.1 million have found homes on American driveways, the Odyssey has become a Kelley Blue Book favorite, winning our Minivan Best Buy award in 2018, 2019 and 2020, Best Resale Value award in 2020, plus a 5-Year Cost to Own Award and Best Family Car award in 2019. The Honda Odyssey provides family transport for up to eight occupants that’s user-friendly, well thought out, and with a certain class.” 2
“The Honda Odyssey is a great minivan that hits all the right notes. It has one of the nicest cabins in the segment, with comfortable and roomy seats, even in the third row, an intuitive infotainment system, and clever features that allow parents to communicate with their kids in the back row while driving. This van also earns praise for being one of the most fun-to-drive family-haulers out there, and it earns good fuel economy estimates to boot.” 3
